England Stays exists to answer one question well: where should you actually stay? Not the longest list. Not the highest bidder. The places worth the trip.

We cover England only, on purpose. From the honey-stone Cotswolds to the empty beaches of Northumberland, we know the country well, and we would rather go deep on one nation than thin across four.

How we choose

Every place is assessed on guest reviews, distinctiveness, location, design, service and value. We read the recent reviews, not just the headline score, and we look for genuine character rather than chain-hotel sameness. A place that slips for a season can be paused or removed.

How we make money, honestly

Some links to booking sites earn us a commission. It never changes your price, and it never decides whether a place is listed or how it ranks. Featured listings, where they exist, are always labelled. If we would not send a friend, it is not on the site.

Photography

We publish only genuine, current photography of each property before a listing goes live. We never use AI-generated images of real places, and we never pass off stock as the real thing. Styled placeholders, like the panels you may see during our build, are clearly marked.
